The sun sprang up bright and early, casting its golden rays across the sprawling fields of Taylor Farm. Mama got going with her chores, feeding the chickens and milking the cows. The aroma of fresh-baked muffins wafted from the kitchen window, rousing me from sleep. After a hearty breakfast, I joined Papa in the fields to help with the harvesting. It was hard work, but the sunshine felt good on my face.
